« Back to Glossary IndexRegulatory affairs is a relatively new profession which developed from the desire of governments to protect public health by controlling the safety and efficacy of products in areas including human medicines, veterinary medicines, medical devices, pesticides, agrochemicals, cosmetics and complementary medicines. The Regulatory Affairs departments of pharmaceutical companies ensure that their companies comply with the regulations and laws governing medicinal products or medical devices. They are the key interface between the company and the regulatory authorities.
