“Knowledge and Passion are the antidotes of despair! I have not only made a great improvement to my knowledge base through this course, but also gained a better understanding of how to continuously improve the advocacy work in Greece.”

I enrolled in the course as a patient advocate for the Greek muscular dystrophy community. When I received my son’s diagnosis of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy in 2012, I quickly realised the need for effective campaigning, knowledge and advocacy in order to bring Greek standards of care in line with the rest of Europe. I began to look for a way to meet this need, and applied to enrol in the EUPATI course in order to strengthen my knowledge and have better information to help the patient community. So far my expectations have been met. I have not only made a great improvement to my knowledge base through this course, but also gained a better understanding of how to continuously improve the advocacy work in Greece and met other members of the patient community.
